On Wednesday, #21 Villanova bade a final farewell to the "old Spectrum", the site of glorious victories over Big East opponents during the 1980s and 1990s. The Wildcats upset #3 Pittsburgh, its first win over a ranked opponent this season and likely cementing the squad's claim to a NCAA tournament berth.
The Wildcats return to action on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1, when they host Cincinnati at the Pavilion at noon - in other words, in plenty of time for fans to return home to enjoy the Super Bowl - and, regrettably, ponder what could have been a "Turnpike Super Bowl", had the Eagles rallied for a victory in Arizona two weeks earlier.
Go Wildcats!
